CAFÉ ZELIG

Documentary by Tanja Cummings

Every week, very old survivors of the Shoah from various regions of Europe meet regularly in a Munich apartment - the Café Zelig. Many of them carry dramatic, traumatic stories of survival and loss of relatives and friends within them and are looked after sensitively and lovingly at Zelig. The film accompanies some of them back to their past, to their old homeland from which they were uprooted, to the years of the German post-war period, when they found their way back to life - and in their everyday lives today.

A film about coping with trauma and one of the last chances to talk to Holocaust survivors and give them the opportunity to testify.
