LES VARIATIONS CAVEN

Creative Documentary by Fleur Albert

This film creates a multi-faceted portrait of Ingrid Caven, actress, singer, muse of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Daniel Schmidt, Jean Eustache and Yves Saint Laurent, heroine of the Prix Goncourt 2000 named after her, written by Jean-Jacques Schuhl.
The film sketches the "kaleidoscopic" portrait of an extraordinary artist and questions her legacy in terms of the issues of freedom in art and aesthetic radicalism. Or how the body and voice of an eternally rebellious actress, still incredibly alive despite her age, can still poeticise the world and banish the disillusionment of our times.
